Laura Ingalls Wilder gets a desk job in the city

That's the name of Maya's new dress. Really, it came with a name. How awesome is that? Not only was it named, it was imagined and created in Morro Bay, California, the town where Atwood & I wed. Sweet.

You need to get one too. In fact, as soon as you finish reading this, pop over here to get yourself one for the lovely little girl in your life.

The following photos will show you how great a dress it is but in case you're thinking, well, Maya would look cute in anything (wink, wink) then I present you with 5 reasons why you should buy this dress.

1. Ginger Hendrix. She's the creator of these one-of-a-kind little dresses and while not sewing and writing her hilarious blog she's mothering. Ya know, she's a mama. And who doesn't want to support a woman who can do all that? She's due to open an etsy shop soon (hooray!) but until then you can get her at gingerhendrix@charter.net.

2. Ginger doesn't shop at JoAnn's or Michael's for her fabric. Huh-uh. She keeps it real and hits the thrift stores for true vintage finds. These beauties are 100% polyester baby. I'm pretty sure the buttons are used too. In fact, her motto is used is the new new. So true.
3. Unlike long dresses that cause Maya all sorts of problems when she tries to climb and crawl around, these hit above the knees allowing her full-force-toddler-action. These dresses will not slow your sassy little thing down. And when the weather turns chilly just add tights and a long sleeve tee - it's versatile.
4. They come named - enough said.
5. You know how there's a difference between Mossimo shoes from Target and Cole Haan shoes from Nordstrom? These are Cole Haans. They're well-made, retro and unique.

Okay, there you go. Go on now. Get yourself one.
